About Counselling

Over the course of our lives many of us experience periods when we encounter emotional difficulties and can feel stuck. Sometimes we can overcome these challenges by ourselves, but when this doesn’t seem possible counselling can help. Counselling sessions are a chance to talk about the things that may be affecting you emotionally and find a more positive way forward. Counselling can help with many different issues, such as:

  • - stress or anxiety
  • - sadness or depression
  • - bereavement or other loss
  • - difficult challenges or changes in life
  • - relationship or family difficulties
  • - obsessive or unwanted thoughts

Our Sessions

I know that approaching a counsellor for the first time can be daunting, so it is very important for me to create a welcoming, supportive and respectful environment. I would suggest an introductory first session with no obligation to continue counselling beyond this. This gives you a chance to outline the reasons you are seeking counselling, and for us to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. If you decide to proceed, we will then confirm a regular weekly slot for your counselling. The therapy lasts as long as you consider it necessary and helpful.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost £65-£85 depending on your income.
